ASSPIZZA POP UP NYC

Austin Babbitt, aka Asspizza, is currently hosting aHalloween pop-up in NYC, open 24 hrs a day from October 28th to October 31st.The drop features a series of reworked Carhartt items, ranging from jackets andpants, to tees and toques that fold down into ski masks, made with individuallyhand cut eye holes.  The look of hisclothes is clearly street influenced; his creepy jack-o-lantern logo, anddepressing quotes like “Fuck Life” cover the entire collection and perfectlycreate a good Halloween aesthetic.

Austin is known for being a controversial designer, but isable to maintain a strong cult like fan base by making such unique, personalized items that are clearly hand made, and backing it up by making hisstuff exclusively available at his random meetups and pop up shops. Its at themeetups where he interacts with his fans and connects with the people thatchoose to wear his clothes. His most recent pop up at Union Square in NYCseemed particularly intense. Mobs of people crowded around Asspizza trying tocome up on a piece of the limited release, and a fight broke out causing policeto shut down the event.
